Category: Main -> Setting up a debate

Question
·  How do I set up a debate?
·  Why are there two descriptions for each debate?
·  I am a political figure and would to set up a confirmed debate with my oppanent, how do I get started?

Answer
·  How do I set up a debate?

Before you can set up a debate, you must find two other members to make up your team. Each team must have two debaters and one moderator and all three must be registered members. As a reminder all memberships are free. Once you have your team formed, follow the steps below to setup the debate.

  1. Decide on a name for your team and scefics such as the topic of debate and how often debate questions are posted.
  2. Write two descriptions for your team. One should be less than 100 characters and the second less than 1000 characters.
  3. The debate moderator will need to fill out the Create Debate form in the Create a New Debate section and forward the debate ID and password to the debaters.
  4. Each debater will then need to complete the Pending Acceptance form in the Create a New Debate section.
  5. Once both debaters have accepted, the moderator will then need to publish the debate using the Pending Completion form.

·  Why are there two descriptions for each debate?

The shorter description is used in areas such as the Featured Debates section where the full description would not fit.
